The Sig Sauer P228 was a type of handgun.
Details[edit | edit source]
Jack Bauer used the P228 up to and including Day 2. It was available to all certified agents depending on availability (with regards to that of the Glock 17, Beretta 92 and Heckler & Koch MP5K) and personal preference. It was among the most commonly used handguns of law enforcement worldwide. Appropriate silencing equipment was available.
With a round in the chamber, the maximum capacity of the P228 was fourteen rounds.
Background information and notes[edit | edit source]
- Jack Bauer's two-tone P228 had a nickel-plated slide, trigger, hammer, takedown catch, magazine release, de-cocking lever and slide release. While the factory magazine capacity of the P228 is thirteen rounds, aftermarket fifteen-round magazines are also available. The SIG Sauer P228 is available in 9mm Parabellum (Luger) only.
- During Season 1 and Season 2, Jack is actually using a P229 in some scenes. The P229 is visually identical to the P228 with the exception of the grip serrations on the side of the slide, which only extend halfway up the slide on the P229 and the trigger cover is slightly different. The P229 is available in 9mm Para (Luger), .40 S&W and .357 SIG calibres.
- In 24: The Ultimate Guide, a picture of a P229 (seen on the right) is wrongly labelled as a P228.
