Sky1 is the flagship satellite entertainment channel of the British Sky Broadcasting Group (BSkyB) in the United Kingdom and Ireland. It launched on April 26, 1982 as Satellite Television and is the oldest non-terrestrial TV channel in the UK.

Sky1 acquired the UK rights to broadcast 24 beginning with the third season, replacing previous broadcaster BBC Two, and subsequently aired each new episode with about a week's delay from the U.S. debut. To promote Season 7, Sky filmed a humorous unaired promo featuring Carlos Bernard and Annie Wersching, set to the song "T.O.N.Y." by Solange. [1] For the eighth season, Sky1 produced TV ads featuring Wersching and Kiefer Sutherland. [2]

In 2014, Sky1 announced that it would simulcast the two-hour premiere of 24: Live Another Day at 1:00 a.m. on May 6 as it aired on Fox, with the official premiere on May 7 at 9:00 p.m. and subsequent episodes airing on Wednesdays at 9:00 p.m. as well. In addition, it made all eight previous seasons available for On Demand viewing.
