Steve Lanza appeared on 24 as several recurring background characters from Season 2 to Season 8 of 24. He also worked as a stand-in on the show.

Biography and career[]

Steve Lanza was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. He attended Archbishop Rummel High School in Jefferson Parish. After that, Lanza completed a Bachelor's degree in Marketing from the University of New Orleans. He worked as a Territory Manager for Johnson & Johnson from 1985 to 1987.

Lanza started his acting career in 1992, with small roles on TV shows like Picket Fences and Chicago Hope (with Peter MacNicol). He also appeared in the TV film Roswell, which also starred MacNicol and Xander Berkeley. Since 2003, Lanza has been working for Fox Filmed Entertainment in various capacities. Most notably, he worked on 24 as a background actor and stand-in.

In 2002, Lanza produced and acted on the short film Haunted. He also co-wrote the 2013 short film You & Me, with Conrad Hunziker III and Paula Hunziker.

Role on 24[]

Lanza appeared on 24 as several recurring background CTU personnel during Season 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8, and also as FBI agent Reed during Season 7. All but two of his appearances were uncredited.

He also played a stand-in for Louis Lombardi, Carlos Bernard, Sean Astin, Carlo Rota and Paul McCrane. During Season 4 he stood in for Jonathan Ahdout, who played Behrooz, meaning he had to wear a black, curly wig for many months.

He was also a joke teller on-set and tended to do occasional principal photography shoots.
