Rename

I hate to be annoying, but this guy is actually wearing a "Phillips" name tag... Since the name "Brooks" comes from oou co-star credit, we think we should rename the character to Phillips (officer) to distinguish him from the Los Feliz Mall guard. --William (talk) 04:13, February 25, 2020 (UTC)

Yeah, makes sense, with a redirect from Brooks and a BGIN explaining--Acer4666 (Talk) 21:41, February 25, 2020 (UTC)
I remember that we had a discussion on renaming the two cops to "Phillips (hospital)" and "Phillips (mosque)" respectively a while ago. Plus we also have a Day 1 cop named Phillips, so maybe a simple Phillips (officer) may cause some confusions or am I overthinking? Should we leave the page as it is (Brooks) and note the name tag as an error to avoid a Phillips congestion, like how we treat Waltrip and Thuener? --William (talk) 13:23, February 26, 2020 (UTC)
Tricky....the Thuener/Waltrip choice was where we had two in-universe name tag appearances to choose from - this is a choice between an in-universe name tag and an out-of-universe credit, and the canon policy is pretty clear on which takes precedent.
Could we do "Phillips (subway cop)" or something? To distinguish he was at the subway in this episode? Maybe to fit in more with the (hospital) and (mosque) tags of the Day 2 guys?--Acer4666 (Talk) 23:06, February 26, 2020 (UTC)
If so should the two day 2 cops be renamed to "Phillips (hospital cop)" and "Phillips (mosque cop)" ? It's not a big issue (and I doubt anyone would really look for these guys), but I'd like to align the titles. --William (talk) 12:42, February 27, 2020 (UTC)
Good catch guys. William I think that's a good recommendation regarding the Day 2 cops.
Regarding the upcoming moves for the Day 3 guys (mall guard and Brooks), how's this:
  • Phillips (Day 3)Phillips (mall security)
  • BrooksPhillips (Day 3 LAPD)
Also: I apologize, as this all sources back to me... if I had a keener eye in 2007 I would have taken a better screenshot and seen the "Phillips". Blue Rook  talk  contribs 20:13, February 27, 2020 (UTC)
Seems a little bit over-complicated to me. Why keep "Day 3" in the title? Do we have a precedent of the mixture of Day X + function like that? Are you worrying that when people find, for example, "Phillips (subway cop)" and they would be confused as it doesn't directly indicate the season where this character appeared? Well I think the brief description on the disambiguation page (Phillips (subway cop) - an LAPD officer on duty during Day 3), and the page content itself would be enough to clear any confusion. To conclude, I'm in favor of the "Phillips (subway cop)" and incline to leave out "Day 3" in the title to keep it simple and in line with the two Day 2 cops.
Also if we actual move the page, should we use the formal one "officer" or informal one "cop" (albeit shorter)? --William (talk) 04:36, February 28, 2020 (UTC)
