As himself Edit
Rick Garcia played himself, or a 24verse counterpart. Since "Rick Garcia" is an actor on 24 as well as a character on 24, should we have separate pages for both or combine them into one article? I vote for the former, but I'm curious what the consensus is. --Proudhug 20:10, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
It was. His name appears on a TV screen. --Proudhug 20:48, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
- Since he's appeared in 3 or 4 seasons, he should get a separate article Rick Garcia (actor) and Rick Garcia (character). ---CWY2190talkcontribs 20:59, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
- I believe that there should be a separate character page. It would be confusing and awkward to have to divide an article between actor info and fictional character stuff.
- ...my only care is that if we put Rick Garcia in one article and not two, we might get someone in the future making a case about Kevin (Day 4) being played by Kevin Alejandro, and other nonsense like that, where a person clearly isn't playing himself but the names are the same/partially the same. If the consensus is to keep Rick Garcia on a single page, I say (to preclude any silliness down the line) that a new rule might be established where he is the sole exception, and any future possible exceptions be discussed in the Situation Room or some other general page. – Blue Rook 21:09, 1 May 2007 (UTC)talkcontribs
Well, the Kevin thing is clearly not going to seriously come up, but with Garcia there's the question of whether or not he's playing himself. I guess it doesn't really matter because, even if he is playing himself, it's not the self from our world. For instance, if Gov. Schwarzeneggar visited CTU in next week's episode, he'd be a totally different version of himself and deserve his own page. Real life people like Princess Di don't have two pages because the real-world counter part wasn't involved in the show. Oh and, by this rule, we'll need to create a page for "Kiefer Sutherland (character)," as he was mentioned in Findings at CTU as an IU person. --Proudhug 21:24, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
