Ted Simmons was a Secret Service agent assigned to President David Palmer during Day 2.
Before Day 2[]
Ted Simmons was a Green Beret (Unit 7 at Fort Myers) in 1987, performed covert operations for the CIA, and he was a Gulf War veteran. By Day 2, he had been working as a Secret Service agent for five and a half years.
Day 2[]
Agent Simmons was present with President David Palmer at a lake outside of the Northwest Regional Operations Complex. Palmer asked Agent Simmons to help conduct the interrogation of NSA Director Roger Stanton, who was exposed as the head of the Coral Snake conspiracy. Obligingly, Simmons used electric shock paddles on Stanton, and eventually broke him. However, one or more of Stanton's co-conspirators at the Complex erased the portion of the video during which Stanton confessed.
