Petty Officer Third Class Tim Rooney, a Navy engineer, was the lone survivor of the nerve gas attack on the Natalia.
Day 5[]
Rooney was contacted by Jack Bauer, who guided him through the process of slitting a sentry's throat. Rooney then opened a hatch for Bauer, Christopher Henderson, and Agent McCullough. He also distracted Vladimir Bierko and several other terrorists, allowing Bauer and Henderson to retake the weapons system. He survived and witnessed Bauer killing Henderson.
