Todd Grant Kimsey (June 6, 1962September 16, 2016; age 54) played Derek Rosner, the engineer at the San Gabriel Island power plant, during Season 4 of 24.

Biography and career[]

Kimsey was born in Athens, Georgia on June 6, 1962. His parents were Linda and Bill Kimsey, and he had three siblings. In 1980, Todd graduated from Clarke Central High School in his hometown. At first, he enrolled in Davidson College for two years, but eventually transferred to Florida State University where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Acting. After that, Kimsey interned at Reynolds Celebrity Dinner Theater, in Jupiter, Florida. He then moved to New York, and later to Los Angeles, to further his acting career.

Kimsey began his career in 1987 appearing in the film Galactic Gigolo. After that, he appeared in numerous films like Rules of Engagement (with Chris Ufland), The Perfect Storm (with Bob Gunton, Cherry Jones, and John Hawkes), and Tim Burton's 2001 remake of The Planet of the Apes (with Freda Foh Shen).

Aside from films, Kimsey also appeared in TV shows like Seinfeld (with Don McManus), Without a Trace (with Devon Gummersall, Mark Kiely, and Steve Cell), JAG (with Scott Lawrence, Steven Culp, and Kim Miyori), NCIS (with Pauley Perrette and Robert Rusler), Monk, and Desperate Housewives (with Ricardo Antonio Chavira and Doug Savant).

Kimsey died in September 16, 2016 in Westwood, California after battling with lymphoma for several years. Kimsey was married to Lisa, and they had three sons together.[1]
