Tohoru Masamune (born November 18, 1959; age 60) co-starred as an unnamed CTU agent during Season 5 of 24.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Tohoru Masamune was born in Madison, Wisconsin. He is a graduate of MIT, and has appeared in many national commercial advertising campaigns. Masamune has also done voice acting for animations such as Jackie Chan Adventures and Rugrats in Paris. He has performed in starring roles onstage in Silk directed by Tony Award winner Mary Zimmerman (Goodman Theatre in Chicago), and in Far East by A.R. Gurney directed by Tony Award winner Dan Sullivan (Williamstown Theatre Festival).

Masamune played astronaut Hiro Furukawa on The Cape, where he first met director Jon Cassar, who directed him on one of the episodes. He had a starring role as Ozu in the SyFy channel original movie Warbirds and the feature film Baby O directed by Charlie Matthau. Other popular television series appearances include iCarly, Big Shots, Heroes, Without a Trace, Providence, The Practice, Chicago Hope and Mad About You.

Masamune can also be seen as Shredder in the 2014 film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He also appears in Inception (with Simon Rhee).
