The United Kingdom (or UK) was a sovereign state comprised of multiple countries including England and Scotland, located off the northwestern coast of Europe. Its capital was London, England, and its closest neighbors included Ireland and France. The UK was one of the world's major powers and thus was targeted for many terrorist attacks.
