As part of her undercover deception, Nina Myers falsely informed Jack Bauer that his daughter Kim had been found dead in the water, prompting him to vengefully wipe out the Drazens and their men. Afterwards, Jack approached a member of the Coast Guard and asked him if he could claim Kim's body, but was informed that they found no body that night.

An officer in Washington, DC told President James Prescott that the military actions planned against the Middle East still had the element of surprise. Many targets were unguarded, according to his satellite photos which were only ten minutes old.
