Fandom's bug smashing efforts[]

Hey Acer4666!

Fandom announced today (in this blog) that there is a big effort going on to fix some of the most pressing bugs reported by wiki admins and users since the migration to the UCP.

I've posted a message in Discussions here so that any users can mention particular bugs affecting the 24 Wiki that they would like see solved as soon as possible. Just wanted to share this with you in case you want to let other people on the wiki know :) ReverieCode 18:45, 12 March 2021 (UTC)

Cliff M. Simon[]

I found out that Cliff M. Simon died in a kiteboarding accident March 9, 2021. Link of it below.

BattleshipMan (talk) 15:01, 17 March 2021 (UTC)

Ah, that's sad - RIP--Acer4666 (Talk) 18:47, 17 March 2021 (UTC)

Miscellaneous civilians[]

He did it again! Another one hell of a big project… Did you get inspired by Tom's recent addings of these background performers?:P --William (talk) 02:07, 1 April 2021 (UTC)

Haha, yep I always wanted at some point to categorise the various scenes with background performers in...and Tom's recent additions (and noting that Memory Alpha lists all their unnamed characters regardless of credits or dialogue) that made me start it. As usual, ambition may outstrip achievement....--Acer4666 (Talk) 02:15, 1 April 2021 (UTC)
Hey there, an unrelated topic but does the "Chat" function still exist or is it permanently disabled? Thanks. --William (talk) 03:56, 12 April 2021 (UTC)
Permanently disabled by Fandom, I'm afraid. BattleshipMan (talk) 03:59, 12 April 2021 (UTC)

24 pinball[]

I didn't know there was a 24 pinball game. I amazed that it was made in 2009, considering the status of pinball machines these days. BattleshipMan (talk) 15:57, 20 June 2021 (UTC)

Yeah, I actually saw it in an arcade in Canada a few years ago and meant to add something to the wiki but forgot about it. I never played it though!--Acer4666 (Talk) 18:55, 20 June 2021 (UTC)

Hi! My name is ProfessorTofty or George and I am a Wiki Specialist with Fandom. We have recently been conducting a review of issues caused by the update to FandomDesktop. While reviewing this wiki, it was noted that the Navboxes on certain pages such as 24: The Game are difficult to read in the light theme. Would you be okay with me doing some work to fix up this issue? You would have final approval over any changes. ProfessorTofty (talk) 03:26, 5 September 2021 (UTC)

Hey, go ahead - I unfortunately can't bring myself to do any more cosmetic changes to the wiki just to have the rug pulled out from under my feet by Fandom constantly. Hopefully you have more experience and can make the wiki look a bit better than it does right now!--Acer4666 (Talk) 19:54, 9 September 2021 (UTC)
Okay, thanks! It should be finished by tomorrow at the latest unless I run into any issues. ProfessorTofty (talk) 16:12, 11 September 2021 (UTC)

Hello Acer4666. I have a question. How do you let to appear icons on 24 Wiki? I want to do it on my own Wiki, but don't know how. I still have the icons, but they don't appear anymore since Fandom has started this new change overall Fandom. Can you help me? Station7 (talk) 06:40, 23 September 2021 (UTC)

Hey Station7 - the changes made on this wiki to get the top icons working were there. If that doesn't work, do you have a link to your icons template and the wiki they are on? Can't promise I will know what to do but I could take a look--Acer4666 (Talk) 16:25, 23 September 2021 (UTC)
Hello Acer4666. It doesn't work yet for me. I have here 2 links: Station7 (talk) 08:16, 24 September 2021 (UTC)
Ah, ok. If you take the whole "title-eraicons" section from and move it into, that should make them appear on the new skin. For clarity, that means removing
#title-eraicons {
	display: block !important;
	text-align: right;
	margin-left: 1em;
	min-width: 250px;
from MediaWiki:Wikia.css and adding it to the bottom of MediaWiki:Common.css--Acer4666 (Talk) 14:28, 24 September 2021 (UTC)
Hello Acer4666. They reappeared back. Thank you very much. :) Station7 (talk) 17:00, 25 September 2021 (UTC)

24 Years of 24[]

Hey buddy, hope you're doing well. I finished polishing an article for this 20 Years Of 24 convention, and then noticed that you had deleted some blog or self-promo stuff from the same user. Do you think we should leave the whole article? If it's legit, I think it's worth having it. Jon Cassar is advertising it heavily on his Twitter. I asked them on their Twitter page about the logistics of the event to see if they replied, but I would like to know your thoughts. Thief12 (talk) 00:39, 26 October 2021 (UTC)

Hey! I initially deleted the mainspace article that was made about the podcast, but the user reached out to me by email and I explained he could write a blog about it on the wiki to talk about it. He actually interviewed me about the wiki for one of his podcast episodes! I'm fine with him having user or blog articles about it - it's not an official event, but it's certainly got a lot of the high profile cast and crew involved with it.--Acer4666 (Talk) 14:44, 29 October 2021 (UTC)
Nice! I'm gonna check that podcast. Anyway, let me know what you think about the page. Should we delete it or transfer it to his blog/profile page. Thanks! Thief12 (talk) 03:51, 30 October 2021 (UTC)
Hey, guys. I found this link with more info about it. BattleshipMan (talk) 06:54, 3 November 2021 (UTC)

Season 1 scripts[]

Hey! Didn't want to clutter the unnamed civilians talk. Anyway, I got the scripts from this seller on eBay. The two I got (1x08 and 1x10) are pretty close to their final episodes. Some characters are named differently; Aaron Pierce's first name was originally Frank, for example. The character who I think would be known as Eileen is given the name Laura oddly enough. Maria Canosa was originally a male: Bill Canosa. But the most mind-blowing reveal of all? Dave Thompson (of Jet Copter Three fame) was originally named... *drum roll* ...Mike Nolan!

Gaines's plan is slightly different in this version; Jack was originally supposed to distract Agent Hayes, rather than just be an idle patsy. When confessing to Nina & Tony, Jamey calls Richard Walsh a "typical Bel Air liberal", who viewed her as "his little brown-skinned reclamation project that he could trot out and show everybody what a great guy he was". Also, Andre Drazen recounts to Gaines the Fall of Constantinople, and how the Ottomans disassembled their fleet in order to cross the isthmus. He then ties this into his "when Plan A doesn't work, you should have a Plan B" line.

These are just some of the things that jumped out at me. I plan to do a more in-depth analysis later! When I get the time I can take pictures and post a link here, if you want. Hoover Dudever (talk) 06:24, 18 December 2021 (UTC)

That's awesome! There's so many more available from the seller, unfortunately they don't ship to the UK :(
I'd be super interested in anything you find in the scripts, Season 1 is my favourite and all those tidbits of info about how it was written originally I find fascinating! Alternative names for characters etc. can go into background information and notes sections, but also any names given for characters that were unnamed in the final episode can also be used as per our canon policy!--Acer4666 (Talk) 18:38, 18 December 2021 (UTC)
What about names given for locations, organizations, etc.? (The building at 21500 Riverside Drive is named the DayCorp Building, for instance.) Hoover Dudever (talk) 05:34, 19 December 2021 (UTC)
It's just for character names, the main reason is to give canonical characters articles, so we take the minimum amount of non-canon info (their name) that makes that possible. We already have an article for 21500 Riverside Drive so adding the non-canon name doesn't really allow us to add more canonical info than we already have, if that makes sense?--Acer4666 (Talk) 12:39, 23 December 2021 (UTC)

Twitter exchange[]

Hey, buddy. Hope you're doing well. What do you make of this exchange? I was checking the episode and she's actually not credited as a PA, but what do you think we should do? I'm thinking removing birthdate, social media links, but would like to know your thoughts. Thief12 (talk) 01:53, 19 December 2021 (UTC)

I'm not too concerned about having to remove that info - she decided to appear in a popular television show, if she doesn't like the fact that gives her an imdb page and wiki pages then she shouldn't have taken the money to do the job! I think taking off her social media links and birthdate would be reasonable to do if you want to (with Facebook pages I tended to only link to "public profile" type pages rather than personal ones, but with Twitter/Instagram it's a little more hazy)!--Acer4666 (Talk) 12:41, 23 December 2021 (UTC)
Yeah, that was what I thought. Thief12 (talk) 20:18, 24 December 2021 (UTC)

Check out this user's contributions[]

I think you should check out this user's contributions and see what you think since they are mostly blank pages without categories. BattleshipMan (talk) 17:22, 21 February 2022 (UTC)

Michael Byrch[]

I think Karl Rask's henchman portrayed by Michael Byrch is the second henchman Jack took out. BattleshipMan (talk) 05:26, 8 March 2022 (UTC)

Yep, thats right!--Acer4666 (Talk) 18:12, 8 March 2022 (UTC)

Image Removal FYI[]

Hello, I am on the Customer Support Team. The image on has been removed, per privacy request. Typically, when an actor asks to have their image removd, we honor this request. The main article may remain, but do not restore the image. 24 guest actor passed away[]

Jack Kehler has died last Saturday.

I thought I should pass this along since someone edited his article. BattleshipMan (talk) 14:37, 12 May 2022 (UTC)

Yeah, I saw that - RIP--Acer4666 (Talk) 12:36, 15 May 2022 (UTC)
Yes, I saw him in a few things.
Also, I created an article of background actor Bobby Pappas. BattleshipMan (talk) 04:50, 16 May 2022 (UTC)

Awesome work[]

Hey man, just wanna say awesome work on these recent new discoveries! I can't imagine how much effort you have put into digging these age-old photos/links! I wonder if there are more surprises to come?:P --William (talk) 06:10, 13 June 2022 (UTC)

Haha cheers! So there is someone who is potentially able to give us some behind the scenes info of some background extra names (this is a sneak peek of what he gave me so far) but he wants a fair bit of money for the info, so I'm not 100% sure if I will be able to pay for it all or not...--Acer4666 (Talk) 06:23, 13 June 2022 (UTC)

Heck, I even thought about buying the Season 1 scripts at one point, but the price is way tooo expensive and I think it is only available for domestic delivery. --William (talk) 06:51, 13 June 2022 (UTC)

Extras project[]

Hey man, hope you're all good! Sorry to msg out of the blue - was just wondering if you'd mind if I send you a quick email regarding the extras project? Thanks! - LeeCastle24 (talk) 15:45, 28 June 2022 (UTC)

Yeah absolutely email me anytime - it's Acer4666 at :)--Acer4666 (Talk) 15:52, 28 June 2022 (UTC)

Gregory Itzen[]

Sad news. Itzin passed away. May he rest in peace.

BattleshipMan (talk) 14:37, 8 July 2022 (UTC)

I saw that, it's extremely sad. He was at the 20 years of 24 reunion convention and was so funny throughout the whole show--Acer4666 (Talk) 23:16, 8 July 2022 (UTC)

Welcome Message[]

Hey man, is the welcome message function, which automatically posts on any user's talk page when the user makes a contribution, disabled? I've only noticed just now because I was about to leave a comment on User:Maxwell Bleemount's talk page and found that tutorial message gone. Took me a while to find the Status Policy myself. --William (talk) 16:28, 11 July 2022 (UTC)

Hey, yeah I think that's been broken for a while now. At least, intermittently broken, in that it sometimes works and other times doesn't. To manually create a talk page, you can use the {{welcome}} template to include the boilerplate stuff--Acer4666 (Talk) 06:30, 12 July 2022 (UTC)
