With a release date, I thought it might be cool to bring back the countdown on the main page. I found a new plugin that's a little more flexible. You would just copy what's on my Wikia.css and Wikia.js to the site ones and it should work. This version will probably look best in the right column. --Pyramidhead (talk) 19:16, January 15, 2014 (UTC) {{{date}}}

Awesome! On it like a car bonnet. The site css/js sometimes takes a while to update, but should be working by tomorrow!--Acer4666 (talk) 19:35, January 15, 2014 (UTC)
Hm, seems the numbers are too big now. Could you change the font size from 300% to 250% or so? --Pyramidhead (talk) 20:36, January 15, 2014 (UTC)
Oh! You also need to delete the old .countdownbanner and .timerholder classes. --Pyramidhead (talk) 20:56, January 15, 2014 (UTC)
This is strange. Everything looks right on Common.css but it's not looking the way it should. Does it normally take this long for the styles to update? --Pyramidhead (talk) 01:19, January 19, 2014 (UTC)
No, theoretically everything should be fully updated every 24 hours. If it worked on your personal css and not on the site's, I'm guessing there's stuff elsewhere on the style pages that is overriding it. Any way to tell which lines of the new code are the important ones; or or we gonna have to shove an !important on the end of every line haha?--Acer4666 (talk) 01:34, January 19, 2014 (UTC)
In the inspector it doesn't look like it's pulling anything for .countdownbanner and .timerholder. That would seem to suggest there's a syntax error somewhere above that section. Hopefully I can track it down --Pyramidhead (talk) 01:42, January 19, 2014 (UTC)
I'm lost. What's weird is it actually worked before when the old versions of those classes were still in. Right now, it looks like nothing below the [id~=map_google] rule is getting included. --Pyramidhead (talk) 01:47, January 19, 2014 (UTC)
I have a new version of Common.css on my style page - just moved the countdown stuff further up in the page. I have no idea why its placement might matter, but maybe it'll kick in finally. --Pyramidhead (talk) 18:25, January 19, 2014 (UTC)
Okay, think I figured out what's up - seems the geniuses at Wikia decided to just disable Common.css without telling anyone. If you want it to actually be applied to every skin like it, you know, says at the top, you have to put in this line at the top of Wikia.css:
@import url("");

Mind you, there's some stuff in Common.css that might override or mess with what's on Wikia.css. But at least we know the problem now. --Pyramidhead (talk) 18:57, January 19, 2014 (UTC)

Ah, I did know about that but always thought we had it here. I'm stupid, I thought our "sidebar" classes were called "infobox" classes so was like "other stuff on common.css works"! Hopefully should fix the problem now?--Acer4666 (talk) 19:11, January 19, 2014 (UTC)
Yes! Nice!--Acer4666 (talk) 19:11, January 19, 2014 (UTC)
One small thing - I'm seeing the counter counting down to 8pm GMT, ie, May 5 8pm in the timezone I am currently in. Do you see it counting down to 8pm your time, or GMT too?--Acer4666 (talk) 19:27, January 19, 2014 (UTC)
Yes, I noticed that. There's a way to adjust for the timezone, but I think I can also make it so that the date it counts down to doesn't have to be hardcoded in Wikia.js. I'll see what I can do. --Pyramidhead (talk) 19:49, January 19, 2014 (UTC)
Got it! Just change the last two lines of Common to this:
debut = new Date($('#countdownDate').text());
$('#defaultCountdown').countdown({until: debut, timezone: -5});
Just remember that with daylight savings you'll want to change that to -4 sometime in March. --Pyramidhead (talk) 19:54, January 19, 2014 (UTC)

Hi thanks for your message.

I would like some cool imiages on my userpage and on my talk page with 24. Where i can place rules for my talk page get back to me on mytalkpage Dan aka CTUMason --CTUMason (talk) 00:09, April 20, 2014 (UTC)

Assad's terror cell group category[]

Why does that have to be removed? They're a terror cell that while with few members is still as key a presence as Fayed and Marwan's various cells.--Gunman6 (talk) 00:45, January 19, 2014 (UTC)
Please, the relevant place to discuss this is on the Wiki 24:Articles for deletion page--Acer4666 (talk) 00:53, January 19, 2014 (UTC)

User page[]

Can you set one up for me please? This is the current page User:Silent_Hunter_UK/Filming_Locations_in_London_for_Live_Another_Day Silent Hunter UK (talk) 17:15, January 22, 2014 (UTC)

I moved the page to your userspace, the title needs to be prefixed by "User:" then your username and a forward slash. Good luck hunting out locations! I'm keeping notes on anything that gets revealed too, here--Acer4666 (talk) 17:34, January 22, 2014 (UTC)
Thanks! Silent Hunter UK (talk) 17:45, January 22, 2014 (UTC)

CSS quirk[]

Hey, I've noticed that the video thumbnails on the LAD page are a little too dim. If you get a chance do you think you could take a look? It looks like if you find this rule:

div.thumb div {
   background-color: rgb(32, 32, 32);
   border-color: rgb(96, 96, 96);
   color: rgb(238, 238, 238);

and take out the background-color line, it will look normal. Thanks! --Pyramidhead (talk) 21:33, February 2, 2014 (UTC)

Another thing, when the site's in narrow mode the recent activity, photos, etc. boxes are too narrow. If you find this part in Wikia.css
.WikiaRail {
padding:0 9px;

and take out the width:300px line it works correctly. --Pyramidhead (talk) 02:33, February 4, 2014 (UTC)

Sorry! now been done--Acer4666 (talk) 09:50, February 4, 2014 (UTC)

Establishing a Media Policy/Guidelines for 24 Wiki[]

Hi Acer4666,

My name is Luis and I am a Community Support Manager (ES) and Video Community Lead at Wikia. I had a few questions regarding the 24 Wiki and was told you were the person to speak to.

As you know Wikia is currently working with communities to create Video Policies/Guidelines to their specific Wikias. As you may already know Wikia currently has been establishing an expansive library of fully licensed Wikia videos covering various forms of entertainment.

Video Swap (LVS) is our newest tool which allows admins to quickly swap videos from outside providers to the same (or very similar) video that exists in our library at Wikia Video. All our videos are fully licensed with no expiration date.

We are always looking to improve on what we can provide to our users and if it was ok with you, we would like to know what we can do to better your experience.

Lastly we want to encourage communities to create a Video Policy/Guidelines that cater to the needs of your Wikia community regarding the uploading of any media for users to reference when visiting your site if you haven't done so already. If so, do you think you could link me to it? I would greatly appreciate it! We will we doing a feature on Wikias with Video Policy/Guidelines in the near future in order for those Wikias that need references to get some help in establishing their own.

Here are a few examples:

Thanks again for your time!

File:Ryanchappellekill.JPG and File:Chappelle1.jpg are really similar to each other. Shouldn't be one deleted and another one stay? --Station7 (talk) 11:07, February 19, 2014 (UTC)

They are quite similar, yeah. I guess one is more of an "action shot" for the on-screen kills page, showing the actual moment of the kill, and one is more of a calm sombre picture to illustrate the sadness of the scene, for use on the episode page etc. But, if you want to nominate something for deletion, you can do so on the afd page--Acer4666 (talk) 15:35, February 19, 2014 (UTC)

Howdy chief! I'm slowly getting into the groove of things again... slowly. Two things are still floating on my radar you may be able to help with if convenient, I hope it's not a trouble?

  1. It's been there awhile but can you recall the issue with the Bob redirect needing protection? Bob?action=unprotect
  2. In retrospect I certainly should not have called the UN flags observation you made during a large edit at Timeline "apparent nonsense". Given that cell phones and numerous other kinds of technology in Day 1 didn't exist in 1978, this one is truly an outlier among the other bits that generally point to 2001, 2002, etc. With that in mind, I'm curious about finding a fair analysis we can both agree on to exclude it. For example, what degree of certainty is there that Georgia is truly missing from the UN flags shot? are there any real life ceremonial/procedural explanations why it might be missing one day, or moved to another spot temporarily? (I don't know much about how the UN handles its flags.)

Thanks bud. To return the favor if there is anything floating around I missed in the last months you might want me to chime in about, just let me know here too. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 07:33, February 25, 2014 (UTC)

Hey! Good to see you back Blue Rook! I'm a little busy myself at the moment, but hopefully can still pop in regularly.
  1. There was an issue with redirects not leaving "breadcrumb" links once you used them, I'm not entirely sure why I protected the page (I guess as any editing might have stopped the problem being demonstrable) but Wikia never got back to me about it so I forgot to unprotect the page! Sorry about that, have done so now.
  2. Yeah, no worries about that - I agree that it is an outlier, but I don't really see that section of the timeline page as trying to weave together all the evidence into one date, but rather it just demonstrates how there is no fixed date due to many different clues giving wildly different dates. There is an establishing shot in Day 1 using archive footagr from 1993! Kind of like how BGIN notes inconsistencies/mistakes, I included it being an interesting note about how that establishing shot places the days in an impossible timeframe.
And yeah, the UN flags outside the building are one for each member state all in alphabetical order. In the establishing shot there are the flags of France, Gabon, Gambia, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Grenada, Guatemala, etc., meaning the shot was probably filmed between 1973-1992 (Germany joined 73, George joined 92).
I don't mind if the consensus is to remove it, I just thought it was an interesting fact to note.
The only debate that springs to mind at the moment is if 24: The Ultimate Guide is classed as an "in-universe" or "out-of-universe" book? Pyramidhead says that the whole thing is written iu, but I remember proudhug saying that it wasn't. I don't have the book myself, not sure if you do? I've contacted proudhug but haven't heard back--Acer4666 (talk) 10:26, February 27, 2014 (UTC)
Ah, unfortunately I do not own that book. But using Amazon's "look inside" feature, what I can see is written in reasonably IU style. I am seeing lots of "Day 1", "Day 2", however, which is a necessary IU evil that especially we here at this project are intimately familiar with. If the presence of "Day 1", "Day 2", etc., is Proudhug's only reason for saying it is OOU, I disagree. But the sample pages are not enough to take a position on. It sucks Proudhug is basically gone, as I'd like to see what his points are. Did Pyramidhead make a summary of what facts would be added to the wiki if we were to accept this as canon?
Also, regarding the flags, I can't really think of anything. Would you be comfortable if I added a qualifying line, something like "if this footage is given equal weight with the other content, it would place Day 1..." ? Blue Rook  talk  contribs 19:27, March 9, 2014 (UTC)
Yes, I don't mind any qualification being added to that flag note, but I think it does have a place on that page as it is an indication of how all the different clues to the timeframe contradict each other--Acer4666 (talk) 16:05, March 10, 2014 (UTC)

Noticed an unusual hacking from this user.[] This guy is posting tons of gibberish.--Gunman6 (talk) 22:04, March 7, 2014 (UTC)
They are making articles about the indian 24. I have no way to tell if it's gibberish or not, because I can't watch the indian version. This is exactly what we told you would happen if the indian stuff was kept on this wiki!--Acer4666 (talk) 17:32, March 8, 2014 (UTC)

Spotlight Request[]

Hi. It is likely they intended the spotlight to go up either at the beginning or middle of May (when the new series starts); however I have also approved you for a user-requested spotlight. -- Wendy (talk) 03:14, April 23, 2014 (UTC)

Many thanks!--Acer4666 (talk) 10:55, April 23, 2014 (UTC)

Nice job[]

Just wanted to say you've done a kickass job with the weapons and filming locations pages; congrats on finishing them all. It'll be nice to be able to do them one episode at a time from now on! --Pyramidhead (talk) 21:36, April 25, 2014 (UTC)

Thanks man! I wanted to get them done before May 5; I'm raring to go with live another day stuff now. I might hold off on illustrating the locations & weapons pages until the DVD comes out so I can get good quality shots rather having rips from an online player or whatever.
Also, nice job on the innumerable awesome things you've been doing lately! I'm looking forward to the rush of new info we're gonna have soon :)--Acer4666 (talk) 23:46, April 25, 2014 (UTC)

John Keeler photos[]

I took some of the photos of Keeler on Air Force One, while watching the 10:00 P.M.-11:00 P.M. episode on —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Conservative Democrat (talkcontribs) .

I realise that, but you took a photo of your laptop, and half of the picture was your keyboard keys. We try to have decent quality images here, which means taking a screenshot of the episode using computer software--Acer4666 (talk) 18:14, April 29, 2014 (UTC)

Lin Oeding's character killed by Jack Bauer?[]

Isn't he the last of Philip Bauer's mercenaries seen being explicitly killed by Bauer after Chris Gann's character if offed?--Gunman6 (talk) 04:25, May 5, 2014 (UTC)
I don't think so. The guy shot by Jack is wearing a leather jacket which Lin Oeding was not. I thought it could possibly be the other guy with Oeding, but the shot guy has a pale blue shirt whereas that guy has a darker grey shirt on--Acer4666 (talk) 21:50, May 5, 2014 (UTC)

Template:JackBauerKillsLiveAnotherDay should being deleted. We have it double. Template:JackBauerKills9 is used for the On-screen kills by Jack Bauer. --Station7 (talk) 10:10, May 6, 2014 (UTC)

Jack's kill list

Yes look here. ;) --Station7 (talk) 09:53, May 8, 2014 (UTC)

Oh yes, you're right. I didn't know that. --Station7 (talk) 09:54, May 8, 2014 (UTC)

Yeah that pic is from a behind the scenes clip rather than the aired episode--Acer4666 (talk) 09:55, May 8, 2014 (UTC)
Some of those names there are mixed up as you many of you know, including Pavel Tokarev, which was accidentally list as Peter Tokarev. I also put the trivia of that of Dave Conlon as it was listed as David Conlon. BattleshipMan (talk) 17:19, May 9, 2014 (UTC)
I removed that, as it isn't notable. The fact that Pavel was called Peter is a mistake, calling Dave "David" is not.--Acer4666 (talk) 19:41, May 9, 2014 (UTC)
I see. One other thing, you might want to add some Background information and notes on the ones that we seen, but is not seen on the list like Abu Fayed, Specter, etc. and also it was marines who Omar on Day 4, not Jack as it was seen on that list. BattleshipMan (talk) 20:08, May 9, 2014 (UTC)
Omar is already listed here. But you add the ones that are missing in the list from the episode itself. --Station7 (talk) 20:11, May 9, 2014 (UTC)
It's clearly not meant to be a complete list of his kills - there are tons of people missing! The named omissions are listed in the note on the episode page, I think that is enough--Acer4666 (talk) 20:13, May 9, 2014 (UTC)
I added Specter on that episode page since he was killed by Jack, but is absent on that list. BattleshipMan (talk) 20:22, May 9, 2014 (UTC)

You have a spelling error on your main page. You refer to the site as the "premier" 24 site; the word is spelled premiere. Premiere is the first or best; a premier is a governmental official. You might consider correcting the page. --LeverageGuru (talk) 07:13, May 10, 2014 (UTC)

I'm afraid you are mistaken: "premier" is a noun meaning head of government or state, and also an adjective meaning first in importance or best. "premiere" is a noun meaning the first showing or performance of a piece of entertainment, or a verb meaning "to put on a premiere".--Acer4666 (talk) 09:54, May 10, 2014 (UTC)

Colin Follenweider's role for Day 1?[]

I noticed that he credited himself for a role in Day 1, Episode 17 where he possibly playing either a Secret Service member or maybe he's off by a bit and actually playing one of Andre Drazen's men a few episodes later at the port:

1x23 Port man 4.jpg

--Gunman6 (talk) 00:07, May 11, 2014 (UTC)

That's a picture of Boris, a recurring goon in episodes 22 & 23, who I don't think is played by Colin Follenweider.
Where does he list playing a Secret Service agent? If he does, the "4pm-5pm" episode on imdb likely refers to Day 5: 4:00pm-5:00pm as there was a big shootout with SS agents in that episode.--Acer4666 (talk) 00:12, May 11, 2014 (UTC)
He doesn't list playing a SS agent, I was just saying if he actually did perform in the episode he performed in, he "might" have portrayed one of President Palmer's guards.--Gunman6 (talk) 06:41, May 12, 2014 (UTC)

Vandal problem[]

Somebody vandalized the article James Heller. I had to revert it. So you need to block that vandal. Pyramidhead said to go to you. 04:07, May 14, 2014 (UTC)

Looks like Blue Rook took care of it--Acer4666 (talk) 09:46, May 14, 2014 (UTC)

More 24 Redemption stuntmen[]

This page related to the Paley Center Media's coverage of the Redemption movie shoot shows two stuntmen briefly but unfortunately they're neither named or given a character name, only mentioned as being local: --Gunman6 (talk) 19:30, May 14, 2014 (UTC)

The guy on the left of them does look like Vernon Willemse. Do these guys appear in the episode? I don't have it on dvd--Acer4666 (talk) 20:04, May 14, 2014 (UTC)
Don't know and I would have to look through the Bauer kills page to see if they're even actors he's killed on-screen. Probably seen but if worst comes to worst, they worked on it but weren't in the final episode.--Gunman6 (talk) 20:11, May 14, 2014 (UTC)
Well let's wait until they're found in the episode before adding anyone to the cast list or making pages--Acer4666 (talk) 20:13, May 14, 2014 (UTC)
Ah, I see Vernon Willemse in it now - he has quite an extensive fight scene with Jack, along with Adam Horton (on Horton's demo reel, skip to 3:58)--Acer4666 (talk) 21:09, May 14, 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for sharing and I think I see the role that the unknown performer portrayed now: It's the character named Samuel.
--Gunman6 (talk) 00:42, May 15, 2014 (UTC)
No that's not him. The other guy is wearing red sunglasses, holding this gun, and sitting in the passenger seat of Dubaku's car (next to Vernon Willemse driving) throughout that scene--Acer4666 (talk) 00:53, May 15, 2014 (UTC)

2:00pm-3:00pm Filming Locations[]

Just wondering, since the scenes in this week's episode were filmed indoors at established locations from previous episodes, do we need to add these to the filming location page? Most of the location scenes inside the US Embassy cannot be identified. Ryoga-hibiki (talk) 20:44, May 20, 2014 (UTC)

Well the other filming locations pages I've done list every location seen in each episode, since often the specific sections will be linked from different pages. Eg, if someone has just watched Day 9: 2:00pm-3:00pm, and wonders where, say, the al-Harazi scenes were filmed, they should be able to go to that section of the page and see it listed rather than having to trawl through all the other episodes to see the "first appearance". So the locations to be re-listed are Dorney Court, the exterior of the US embassy, and the scenes in Middle Temple Hall with Heller.
You'd be surprised when it comes to interior locations - sometimes you can discover little bits and pieces here and there! I'm not sure of any of the embassy interiors though--Acer4666 (talk) 21:51, May 20, 2014 (UTC)
I will simply do a copy and paste with new pictures related to the episode. Ryoga-hibiki (talk) 22:27, May 20, 2014 (UTC)

Kate Morgan[]

I managed to add Kate Morgan's episode 3 summary in her article. It might need to work on grammar and such. BattleshipMan (talk) 21:58, May 20, 2014 (UTC)

Ah, great! One thing to bear in mind when writing articles on this wiki: There are two separate types of pages, in-universe and ou-of-universe. In-universe pages such as characters, locations, objects etc within the world of 24 are written in past tense. Out-of-universe pages such as Episode guides, actors, 24 media etc are written in present tense. So if you are writing anyone's character page, it must be in the past tense (Kate went to see Tanner, Kate crawled through the air vent etc). If this is unclear just ask!--Acer4666 (talk) 22:04, May 20, 2014 (UTC)
Right. I'll keep that in mind. BattleshipMan (talk) 22:14, May 20, 2014 (UTC)

This user, User: has already numerous vandalism done on pages. Could you check it? --Station7 (talk) 17:44, May 26, 2014 (UTC)

Looks like Thief got it!--Acer4666 (talk) 20:27, May 26, 2014 (UTC)
I'm glad that Thief showed up. I posted this message before that Thief blocked him/her. It was pretty annoying. You can see that on my reactions. ;) --Station7 (talk) 20:52, May 26, 2014 (UTC)

Jonah Russell[]

Hey, I know you're pretty active on Twitter - want to drop Jonah Russell a line and ask if he knows what his character's name was? --Pyramidhead (talk) 19:06, May 27, 2014 (UTC)

As well as his co-star's name and any other of the actors playing all the soldiers? --Pyramidhead (talk) 20:55, May 27, 2014 (UTC)
He says he doesn't think he had a character name and can't remember any co-star names :(--Acer4666 (talk) 17:52, May 28, 2014 (UTC)
Drat. Oh well! --Pyramidhead (talk) 19:02, May 28, 2014 (UTC)

"Must-see" videos[]

Anything you can do to get rid of this "helpful" module in the side rail? Really hate having to scroll down five miles to see the recent changes! :) --Pyramidhead (talk) 20:16, June 10, 2014 (UTC)

Haha, I'll ask staff but I'm guessing it's a supposedly "vital" part of the interface that hiding would be a violation of the terms of use.
One point though - I see the recent changes module above the "must see" videos in the sidebar. On my sidebar I have recent changes, then must watch videos, then new photos, then chat. Do you see something different?--Acer4666 (talk) 20:39, June 10, 2014 (UTC)
Hmm, I see the same now. Maybe they recently fixed it, but for a while I think it was switched around, for me at least. Thanks! --Pyramidhead (talk) 21:17, June 10, 2014 (UTC)
Off-topic, but do you have any thoughts on my sidebar redesign? I think the general look of the current one could be better, and I added some subheadings to organize the longer ones a bit better. --Pyramidhead (talk) 22:03, June 10, 2014 (UTC)
Sorry, yes, I saw your forum post about that and meant to collect my thoughts on it together to give feedback but got distracted with other things. I am unfortunately having computer display issues at the minute so can't give a proper response yet - a couple of things I remember was preferring to have the name above the picture, as well as perhaps keeping some kind of border round the whole thing - but I do like the new sections for the info fields--Acer4666 (talk) 07:25, June 11, 2014 (UTC)

Nitya Mehra[]

I did put a source in the file afterwards and yet it still got removed so I'll post it here again --Gunman6 (talk) 15:02, June 12, 2014 (UTC)

I saw the source, but that's not a 24-sourced image. Just because a website runs a piece about 24 and uses a stock image of a director does not make that stock image 24-sourced. We only have images from the show, and behind the scenes, and recently have stretched to photos from 24-themed events as well. I've been through this with you before, as always--Acer4666 (talk) 15:15, June 12, 2014 (UTC)
Yes, but that image could've easily been from the interview itself.--Gunman6 (talk) 23:24, June 12, 2014 (UTC)
As you know, we don't base things on guesswork and might have beens. The image is definitely not from that interview, seeing as the same image was used in a 2012 article about the person. Besides even if it was, it still wouldn't be acceptable, we have images from 24 media not random interviews that happen to mention 24.--Acer4666 (talk) 23:46, June 12, 2014 (UTC)
Actually this would apply as this isn't just a random interview referencing it, it is all about 24.--Gunman6 (talk) 04:05, June 13, 2014 (UTC)
It's not an official piece of 24 media or an official 24 event--Acer4666 (talk) 12:13, June 13, 2014 (UTC)

Regarding the Must Watch Videos Module[]

Hello Acer4666,

I understand that recently you expressed some concerns regarding the new videos module. Currently there are no plans to change or remove the new module. However, we are always looking for ways improve how things work and look on the site and we understand that our users will not always agree with the changes that we make, but we care about your feedback and we will take it into consideration for future updates.

18:23, June 12, 2014 (UTC)

Hey Acer466,

I understand perfectly what you mean. They do it, either you want it or not. We can watch 24 videos on Youtube, not 24 Wiki. OK, promos, but not hundreds of video's. 24 Wiki is different then other Wiki's and I know why you don't want them here. There are plenty Wiki's who have them, but 24 Wiki, since I begun on the Wiki, I never saw as a site so from "hey 24 Wiki has a full video gallery on it's page, wow they should have it on every important page" (sorry if it's sarcastic, but you probably know what I mean).

Greets Station7 (who understands you). --Station7 (talk) 22:33, June 12, 2014 (UTC)

Dear Sir:

I am sorry to bother you. I added a hyperlink in the ("Day 8: 9:00am-10:00am")

because the show was off the air for several years and it was difficult to keep track of all of the details. Anyway, I was not able to reduce the size of the font, I did not mean to mess up your page, could you please correct it. 07:07, June 15, 2014 (UTC)

Think I managed to fix it. If you want to add which episode the information comes from, you can use the "cite" template. Simply write at the end of the paragraph {{cite|8x18}} to have it list the 18th episode of season 8 in small writing. Template:Cite/doc will tell you how to use the template in detail. Thanks!--Acer4666 (talk) 12:18, June 15, 2014 (UTC)

You're telling me to stop being blunt in edit sessions yet are doing the exact same thing. I wasn't inserting my opinion, was only summarizing the article on St. Edwards hospital. Also, you keep claiming I am guessing on who is playing various unnamed or uncredited characters when that is exactly what you are doing with various articles on here related to the various stuntmen who have not been confirmed as working on said season or on the show at all.--Gunman6 (talk) 21:31, June 15, 2014 (UTC)

I phrased that edit summary in as polite and inoffensive a way as I could - but I needed to explain why I removed what you wrote. Phrases like "had been lousy in the execution", "Fortunately, Bauer and Morgan were able to go against the odds", "Margot considered Simone dead to her" are not in the NPOV, encyclopaedic style of this wiki. What you wrote was also told out of order, had some grammar and phrasing issues, and had too much information non-specific to the hospital. I'm sorry if you were offended by my edit summary, but I was simply stating why I had to change your content, and I did not do so in a deliberately offensive way. However describing others' work as "crappy" is deliberately offensive, there is a clear difference here and I am not being hypocritical for calling you out on it.
The stunt performer issue is separate. I have always had the following criteria for confirming a role on the show:
  • Positive visual identification in the episode
  • The clip featured on the performer's reel
  • Confirmation via communication with the performer
  • Behind the scenes footage showing the performer doing a certain role
When you add people based purely on an imdb listing, or online resume, that is guesswork. There is a certain amount of guesswork in visually identifying people, I've never said there isn't, but imdb and performer's resumes have been proven time and time again to be inaccurate - I don't need to tell you all the times this has been the case because we've had this discussion far too many times.--Acer4666 (talk) 21:48, June 15, 2014 (UTC)
Except Eugene Collier, Chester E. Tripp III and J.J. Perry's roles were not identified from any clips, emails or communication last I checked (with the exception of Tripp who had an IMDb listing to go on).--Gunman6 (talk) 22:08, June 15, 2014 (UTC)
They were done through positive visual identification. Putting this in the best nicest possible way, this is something you don't seem to be very good at. As a case in point, Chester E Tripp did actually confirm his roles to me through e-mail. You're welcome to find other opinions from other editors on the visual idents--Acer4666 (talk) 22:13, June 15, 2014 (UTC)
That's arguably what I did with Gregory J. Barnett's so-called Day 4 role and you shrugged it off as guess-work. I have checked J.J. Perry and Eugene Collier and neither role matches their facial features and neither one was confirmed through email, that was merely guess-work. In fact, in the end, it is merely guess-work unless confirmed through the actual actor's site or agent.--Gunman6 (talk) 22:27, June 15, 2014 (UTC)
Except you did it with a character who was completely in silhouette the entire time on-screen. Show me a screen grab that shows his face, and that definitively shows him to be gregory barnett. Furthermore you invoked the claim of "he looks identical" purely because I made the observation that the character name could possibly be Barnett. It was not based on visual identification at all, you just said it was because of the name thing. 90% of identified stunt performers on here are done through visual identification, which yes is guesswork to an extent, but it is done through consensus of editors. I will admit to getting it wrong from time to time - if you can get a consensus from other editors against an identification I have made, then go for it. However I feel you're only opposing some of my decisions as some sort of personal way of getting me back for arguing against your identification of Gregory Barnett.--Acer4666 (talk) 22:33, June 15, 2014 (UTC)

On another note - I think I set the threshold for auto-collapsing lists too high. Could you change it to 8? You just change the number in this row on Common.js - thanks! --Pyramidhead (talk) 18:43, July 9, 2014 (UTC)
var smallTreeCount = 18; // less leaves than this, the tree will be open at first

You can see for yourself then. Here's the link. There are still some problems:

  • This guard's name ends in 'son' and first four letters looks like 'John' but not sure.
  • Again, The officer's name ends in 'ung' and the first two letters looks like 'Ts'.
  • As the name suggested, could be Harris or Karris or neither. May not be able to create a page for him.
  • Two marine named Evans and another pair of Hampton and Phillips pop up. Dunno how to disambiguate. --William (talk) 13:46, June 21, 2014 (UTC)
Ah, nice thank you. Good spotting!
I'm fairly positive the officer's nametag says "young" (I see a Y not T). Think it is Johnson but not definite on that. Not sure on the harris/karris one--Acer4666 (talk) 14:04, June 21, 2014 (UTC)

Quick Link Table[]

How do you edit the quick link table at the top of ? Ryoga-hibiki (talk) 17:05, June 25, 2014 (UTC)

Hey, that is a template so is edited in a separate place to the main article (they're used to keep large pieces of code off the content articles). When you edit the locations page, you should see the code
The double curly brackets around the words indicate that a template is being used. So to find the place to view and edit that template, you just stick "template:" in front of the words in the curly brackets. So Template:LADLocationsTOC is the location you are looking for! Using curly brackets on pages transcludes all of the code from the template page into the article page without making it visible for editors. Let me know if you have any questions about templates--Acer4666 (talk) 12:00, June 27, 2014 (UTC)

Marwan's warehouse location?[]

Do you know if there was ever a specified address for Habib Marwan's hidden warehouse location?

24 Day 4, Ep16- Marwan's warehouse ambushed by Jack Bauer and CTU.jpg

--Gunman6 (talk) 01:39, June 27, 2014 (UTC)

It is only referred to as "the location" or "Marwan's location" in dialogue. However, it was filmed at a warehouse in Boyle Heights, and on Tony's computer screen as the location is traced it shows a map of that area and the location on the map is just down the road from the filming location. My interpretation of the recognition policy would mean that you could make a small entry on the Boyle Heights page to note that it was the location of the warehouse (not a detailed description of the warehouse and what happened in it though). However, User:Pyramidhead has taken issue with this being done in the past, so perhaps it would be a good idea to propose it on the talk page first. Also, the cropped image would be a better pic of the location--Acer4666 (talk) 12:06, June 27, 2014 (UTC)
Did this warehouse appear in 3 or more episodes? If so, it's eligible for a conjectural title article. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 15:22, June 27, 2014 (UTC)
Nope, just the two ("Day 4: 9:00pm-10:00pm" and "10:00pm-11:00pm")--Acer4666 (talk) 15:29, June 27, 2014 (UTC)
Why must it be three episodes versus two? If it's recurring in some way, I would think it would be worthy of inclusion in some way.--Gunman6 (talk) 15:34, June 27, 2014 (UTC)
Why two instead of one, or four? That is the rule that was established when the practice of including unnamed locations was implemented, you can see the discussion here. It was implemented in order to allow pages for the very memorable and important locations that appeared in a good chunk of the season but were never named. The less conjectural title articles we have the better, in my opinion. As Marwan had a new hideout every week in Season 4, I wouldn't say that this warehouse fits into that category--Acer4666 (talk) 15:58, June 27, 2014 (UTC)
Ah yes I do remember that discussion now, and still agree with the consensus. Having the threshold at 2 episodes remains in my opinion too low, and would really open the floodgates for all kinds of extremely arguable items, locations, etc. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 17:31, June 27, 2014 (UTC)

Apology Accepted[]

It's okay and I'm sorry as well for overreacting. I've just been under a lot of stress, and I felt like I kept doing the wrong things when I try to edit and I felt like there are so many rules that I'm still trying to get used to. I do like that you guys are organized and I try to do the same thing because I went to a Wikia the other day that had 4 pages regarding the same article and I found that ridiculous. For me, it's been a lot harder to enforce rules on the Justified wikia because I'm the only one who edits over there while the shows are airing (We have one guy who only shows up to edit if a recurring character is killed off). Anywho, I'm really sorry for overreacting like that.

Contradict name[]

Phillips was a decent guard working at CTU during "Day 1: 11:00am-12:00pm". But when waiting for Jack's chopper at high noon he sweated and changed the uniform to a Levinson. So we create separate articles like how we treat Bronson and Peterson or we merge into the latter to keep it simple since we already have too many Phillips here. --William (talk) 14:25, July 19, 2014 (UTC)

Haha, not sure! This happened before with Thuener and Waltrip and put down as a continuity error; granted in this case we don't have another CTU guard called "Phillips", but it could be a similar case. I think the nametags are a less sure source of someone's name than someone actually being referred to by a specific name, as happened with Bronson/Peterson, so I'd probably vote to put it down as an error--Acer4666 (talk) 21:13, July 19, 2014 (UTC)
So you mean we go for Levinson and note Phillips is a continuity error? If so, cool. But the real problem is how to distinguish this Phillips from Phillips (Day 2) since they are both LAPD cops. --William (talk) 16:16, July 20, 2014 (UTC)
Phillips (Day 2: 12:00pm-1:00pm) and Phillips (Day 2: 6:00pm-7:00pm) ? --Pyramidhead (talk) 19:48, July 20, 2014 (UTC)
Maybe Phillips (hospital) and Phillips (mosque)? --William (talk) 08:01, July 21, 2014 (UTC)
I prefer (hospital) and (mosque), as having the episode titles looks messy. And yeah I'd say to go with Levinson for the other guard as it is the most recent name for him--Acer4666 (talk) 13:42, July 21, 2014 (UTC)

Picture of Audrey and Michelle[]

I'm trying to find a picture of Audrey Raines and Michelle Dessler together? Do you know where I can find one? :D --Station7 (talk) 21:02, July 21, 2014 (UTC)

Haha, it's a shame the category intersection tool isn't enabled on all Wikia wikis, would save a lot of time! I just checked all the image episode categories and it doesn't look like there is one on the wiki. However, they had scenes together in Day 4: 7:00pm-8:00pm and Day 4: 9:00pm-10:00pm so if you have the dvds maybe you could grab a pic from those episodes?--Acer4666 (talk) 23:40, July 21, 2014 (UTC)

Discrepancies in Birth year/month of Drazen brothers[]

Hello, thanks for welcoming me. I already talked about this with another mod/editor but figured out it wouldn't hurt to ask you too.

I've noticed a discrepance in the pages of Andre and Alexis Drazen. Both are listed as being born in 1967 (which I don't doubt) but within 5 months apart? How's that possible? According to Andre's page he's the oldest brother but the month listed seems to state the contrary.

I was able to nailed this to 3 possibilities & would love if you can help me to confirm them so I can be able to understand the issue/characters more:

1) The error comes from the person who wrote the pages (forgive me if I offend someone with this possibility. It wasn't my intention).

2) The error comes from the show (writers). (Again, it's not my intention to offend).

3) It's a falsification used by Alexis who combined the day of his brother's birthday and his birthyear.

Either way, it's been bugging me b/c I can't get a good answer (even considered they were twins but the 5 months apart don't add up to that theory.)

Hope you'll be able to help me since I'll be rewatching the series soon and want to know better both villains (I'm a villain girl).

Marina.iosa (talk) 02:21, July 26, 2014 (UTC)

Hi Marina. This is indeed a mistake made by the show - the dossiers seen on screen here and here show birthdates of June 10 and January 24, respectively. We have noted the fact it is a continuity error at the bottom of each of their articles (in the "background information and notes" section). It's unlikely they managed to falsify data on their official files, so the only explanation is a continuity error.
Hope you enjoy re-watching the show - Season 1 is my favourite, and I love the villains in that season. Let me know if you have any other questions about them, don't worry about offending (their probably are a lot of mistakes on our articles anyway!) Thanks--Acer4666 (talk) 08:36, July 26, 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for confirming the continuity error. I also love season 1 (was the only season I was able to watch fully when aired in Argentina).

Excited for the other seasons.

Timeline info regarding Cat's Claw[]

I saw that in the 24 timeline section it states that 24:Declassified Cat's Claw is listed before Veto Power. On page 115 of Cat's Claw it states: "Kelly Sharpton had been her boss (Jessi Bandison) for a short time at CTU. He'd been brought in on temporary assignment during Jack Bauer's fall from grace. There'd been a spark between them, but Sharpton had left the unit some time ago." I'm pretty sure the author was referencing the events of Veto Power as Jack Bauer had his "fall from grace" and Kelly took over CTU for that novel. Just some info if you want to research it.

CTU Agent Bauer (talk) 02:20, August 4, 2014 (UTC) CTU Agent Bauer

Hey, sorry I missed this message but you're absolutely right, Cat's Claw must take place after Veto power as Kelly Sharpton appears in both novels but dies in Cat's Claw--Acer4666 (talk) 14:33, August 20, 2014 (UTC)

Fire Order in Episode 10 and 11[]

I saw a image of the fire order at the end of episode 10, that needs a bit of explanation, I would like to know where do I put it in the episode page (under what subheading).

Day 9: 8:00pm-9:00pm

Also, if I see an image of a cool gadgets or an app on the smartphone, in the episode, that does not necessarily warrant a webpage, where do I place it.

nemo 15:30, August 19, 2014 (UTC)

Hey, I'm unsure exactly what you mean - you have an image of the fire order? If it's a relevant image to the story then you could put it in the last section of the Day 9: 8:00pm-9:00pm page where the text describes Cheng sending the fire order.
We currently don't have list pages of phones/technology spotted on the show - I've been working on a couple of personal project pages, User:Acer4666/Phones on 24 and User:Acer4666/Computers on 24, still on season 1, and they're probably not ready to be transferred to the mainspace articles, but if you want to add to those or start your own personal user pages let me know and I'll help you set it up--Acer4666 (talk) 14:31, August 20, 2014 (UTC)

removing metadata from images[]

I posted the following photos:

I saw there was metadata associated with the images, I was under the impression the metadata was stripped when uploaded

Nemo2012 (talk) 01:57, August 21, 2014 (UTC)

PS: If it is possible can you please remove it, otherwise remove the photos and I will try to remove it myself. Also, do you know of any good metadata removal programs, because I am very conscious of my privacy. Please inform of your decision. I think privacy is pressing issue when it comes to social media, the data should be stripped automatically.

Hey, I'm not sure how to remove the metadata or why it is being displayed really. You could send a message to Wikia staff using Special:Contact and they may know what to do--Acer4666 (talk) 11:14, August 21, 2014 (UTC)

Update: I was able to remove the metadata, but the fact that the image can be reverted, means that the metadata is still present & it could compromise my safety, is it possible to remove the older version of the image completely.

PS: the link you gave simply points back to the admins of this site, so is there a specific admin I should reach, with regards to removing the metadata entirely.

Nemo2012 (talk) 14:12, August 21, 2014 (UTC)

The link I gave does not point to the admins of Wiki 24, it points to the paid staff who work for the company Wikia, who can help you with technical issues. Please use that link that I gave if you have concerns over your "safety" (Special:Contact/general is the direct link you get to when you follow the instructions).
If you want to upload any more pictures to this wiki please read the image policy - specifically, file suffices should be lower case (.jpg not .JPG) and all images need to be categorised with the episode they came from. Let me know if you have any questions--Acer4666 (talk) 22:48, August 21, 2014 (UTC)

UPDATE 8-21-2014:

I am sorry to be a pest on the matter, but could you explain the difference between Uppercase JPG & lowercase jpg, I never knew there was a difference. For ex: 24-LAD-ep-12-2.JPG, I read the description on how to label the photo, it states that the name should include the season and episode of where the photo came from, is the capital letters LAD also an issue (According to, I have seen the abbreviation LAD). Does that mean you need to erase it. If that is the case please do so & I will resubmit based on the guidance you have stated, that way the new photos will have no trace of metadata.

Thank you for your patience Nemo2012 (talk) 23:25, August 21, 2014 (UTC)

Followup 8-22-2014 2:07 AM GMT:

Just found out JPG VS jpg is only an issue for unix/linux boxes

Hey, the difference is to keep things consistent on this wiki - when adding images to a page, it creates a lot of hassle when you put the wrong capitalisation and images don't get linked properly. Keeping all suffixes lower case removes the ambiguity and this won't happen. Capitalisation isn't a technical issue, rather a local policy to ease wiki editing, thanks!--Acer4666 (talk) 14:34, August 23, 2014 (UTC)

Example of tech used on 24[]

Apparently, Thief12 does not like it, but I hate to see them removed. I vaguely remember that you mention two tech pages you were working on, so where exactly would they go.

Nemo2012 (talk) 01:52, August 23, 2014 (UTC)

Update: Phone Apps

Hey, the images used in episode guides should illustrate the major dramatic moments from the episodes, so images of technical equipment etc. are probably no the best to put on there. You could start a page for tech seen on the show in your "user space" - eg if you go to User:Nemo2012/Live_Another_Day_technology you could start a page there with info about the technology. I could help you format it if you wish, let me know!--Acer4666 (talk) 14:36, August 23, 2014 (UTC)

The reason I brought it up, is because, you already started a write-up on the tech used, I not here to take-over anybody's role. My involvement is winding down because the show is over, and there may or may not be a new season w/o Kiefer. I only see my self as supporting some else project. If anything at all, can you tell me how I can add my photos to your phone or technology page (where is it more appropriate to place the photo & what the write-up should include). Nemo2012 (talk) 05:10, August 24, 2014 (UTC)

Case in point:

User:Acer4666/Phones on 24

add a section called SmartPhones apps

Well the thing is those pages I started will probably only end up covering Season 1, and I'll have to start a new page for the other seasons anyway. Also, I want the pages to focus on identifying real-life technological hardware seen in the show as opposed to software, which is almost always just something fictional created by a graphics team on the show. However, the thing with personal user pages is that you can always make your own. If you go back to User:Nemo2012/Live_Another_Day_technology, I've formatted it just the same as the Season 1 page and indicated in capitals where the descriptions can go. You can put as much/as little description as you like there!--Acer4666 (talk) 11:58, August 24, 2014 (UTC)

Creating an Article[]

Can you direct me to the page that explains how to create an article? I'd like to create one for Phillips the security guard, and I think I'm ready to add the gray-haired agent to our list of unnamed Secret Service agents. I'd appreciate it.--Sampson789 (talk) 21:07, September 10, 2014 (UTC)

Hey, the Template:Newpage character is the base template for making a new character article but to be honest I always find it's best to just copy the entire text from an existing (similar) article, then create a blank page and paste it in and change the relevant details--Acer4666 (talk) 10:56, September 13, 2014 (UTC)

Got confirmation from Ron Yuan's Facebook in PM when I show him a picture of Will Leong's character and the guy we suspected was Tsuyoshi Abe: "yes that is Will in the foreground and Tsuyoshi in the back".--Gunman6 (talk) 19:46, October 10, 2014 (UTC)
Which picture?--Acer4666 (talk) 12:18, October 12, 2014 (UTC)
In this photo below, he confirmed that the guy behind Will Leong as Abe.

Why that pic? The guy is blurry and unrecognisable. There are loads of better photos of that character--Acer4666 (talk) 17:55, October 12, 2014 (UTC)
Apparently not if he recognized him.--Gunman6 (talk) 17:59, October 12, 2014 (UTC)

USS Topkea Crew[]

Hey Acer, do you remembered where did you get the information of Mark Szymanski and Kingsley Van Duzer? I was wondering whether Avilla was played by a real-life marine. --William (talk) 12:16, October 27, 2014 (UTC)

I got info from old crew lists and facebook stalking of people :P took quite a while to track down those names. However, the scenes in the control room place where Avilla is, I am pretty convinced was shot in studio (likewise the showdown with Bierko) not on the submarine. You can see the difference between the very cramped spaces on location and the nicely lit, open spaces of the studio. So my guess is he is played by a normal background extra--Acer4666 (talk) 11:32, October 28, 2014 (UTC)
