Anthony Van Epperson (born February 21, 1957; age 67) played M. Bell during Season 6 of 24.

Biography and career

Van Epperson was born in Sweetwater, Tennessee. He studied at Drury University, completing a Bachelor's degree in Theatre & Communication in 1980. After that, Epperson entered the MFA program in Directing at Purdue University. He began acting at the age of 14, worked in professional theatre after college/grad school, and started his professional acting career Hollywood in 1990, appearing as Truman Capote in an episode of Growing Pains. He is a recurring cast member on the mockumentary series Documentary Now!

Through his career, Epperson has appeared in shows like Chicago Hope, Castle (with Stana Katic and Alex Carter), Shameless, Big Love, Monk, American Crime Story, How To Get Away With Murder, Fued, Fresh Off The Boat, How I Met Your Mother, Murphy Brown, Carnivàle, The West Wing (with Janeane Garofalo, Stephen Root, and Michael O'Neill), NCIS (with Pauley Perrette), Justified, and many others. He has also appeared in three instances of the Star Trek franchise; Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (with Alexander Siddig), Star Trek: The Next Generation, and Star Trek: Enterprise (with John Billingsley and Connor Trinneer).

Aside of TV, Epperson has appeared in films like Hesher, Mr. Woodcock, Diamond Zero, Wild Things: Diamonds in the Rough, Manic, The Green Mile (with James Cromwell and Doug Hutchison), and Babe: Pig in the City (also with Cromwell).
