Wakefield was a United States general in service during Day 4.

The various terrorist attacks of Habib Marwan during Day 4 caused unprecedented fear among the American population. Sometime prior to 8pm, President John Keeler and General Wakefield both agreed that martial law should be considered, especially since another major terrorist strike seemed imminent. This attack turned out to be an airborne strike on Air Force One.
General Wakefield was flown to Los Angeles for a top secret meeting with Secretary of Defense James Heller, to discuss the option of martial law. Heller was informed by President Keeler at 8:05pm of this upcoming meeting.
