Warren, under direction from President Charles Logan, carried out his orders due to the declaration of Martial Law in the Los Angeles Metropolitan area. Later in the evening, Mike Novick contacted Gen. Warren through Beth, a mutual connection at the Department of Defense. Mike asked the general for a status update concerning the arrest warrant for Jack Bauer, but Warren indicated that he never received such an order.
President Logan, after being confronted by Novick, stated that he never talked to Warren about Agent Bauer's arrest warrant. This caused Novick to grow more suspicious of the behavior of the President, and prepared him to be receptive to Martha Logan's claims about the Sentox nerve gas conspiracy.
