: Race is already obvious from the picture each character has, and specific ethnicity information is in most cases impossible to source in-universe since only a few have been mentioned specifically. A few were Arabs, Brits, Turks, Russians, and Chinese... but most other groups like Bierko and his men are from an unspecified country in Central Asia, and no countries were ever given for the Middle Eastern terrorists in Day 2. This means that there will be a wide-ranging gap for the completeness of the information, and most characters will not have an ethnicity and many will be without a country.

Terrorist attacks
Seeing that CTU don't stop all the threats that they face each day, I think there should be a page for terrorist attacks that have actaully occured throughout the seasons. These would only include successful attacks, such as the Virus in the Chandler Plaza Hotel, but not the Nerve Gas attack on the hospital, which was foiled. Each could have a picture, number of fatalities, who was responsible, aftermath etc. For example...

Episode: S01E01.

Attack: Explosion on a commercial airliner, resulting in its crash.

Attacker: Mandy.

Location: Somewhere over the Mojave Desert.

Fatalities: About 200 civilians.

Reason for Attack: To steal the ID of a man who had access to Senator David Palmer's breakfast speech.

Episode: S05E12.

Attack: Release of Sentox VX-1 Nerve Gas.

Attacker: Ostroff.

Location: CTU Ventilation System, Los Angeles.

Fatalities: Edgar Styles, Lynn Mcgill, Harry Swinton, 53 CTU Staff.

Reason for Attack: To cripple CTU's power to stop further attacks.

Episode: S06E04.

Attack: Nuclear Detonation.

Attacker: Hussan Numair.

Location: Valencia, Los Angeles.

Fatalities: Over 12,000 civilians, several CTU Tac-Teams, Ray Wallace, Hassan Numair, Several Terrorists.

Reason for Attack: As a last stand when hideout was been raided.

Chloe O'Brian
I think that it would be a good idea to add a "Chloe on Day 7" page. The reason is because I get the feeling it will need more space since she is on the main cast list for season 7. That way it won't fill up that much space like what they did with Chloe on day 6.

The Game
I think that there should be a Previously on 24 for 24 the Game. This would be interesting to put because we only have ones for real episodes.

: But there isn't a Previously on 24 section in the Game. Well, there is, but it's just a list of writing after every mission if you close and reload the game. Not only would that take a very long time but also, there would be no pictures to include so it wouldn't fit the same design as the other Previously sections. <font color="#6678e1">--</font>SignorSimon <small>(talk/contribs/email)</small> 17:50, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

What I meant was to make a section for each mission divided up by time like they do on Jack Bauer on Day 7 including a Previously on 24 by just bolding the names of the featured characters and hyperlink.

: The problem with that is that nothing in the game is really divided up by time, its all divided up by missions. As stated by Proudhug once a year or so ago, nothing in the game is "24: The Game 6:00pm-7:00pm" or anything like that. They are all individual mission names. <font color="#6678e1">--</font>SignorSimon <small>(talk/contribs/email)</small> 23:05, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

Episode Closers

I liked the idea of a page like this a while ago, but it got deleted I think. Anyway, if we can do a similar article, I am willing to contribute with any/all of the text. I can't do pictures though. If there was a better reason than I know for deletion, then I'll delete this request. --SuperWaffle 20:24, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

What's an episode closer? --proudhug 00:47, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
I kinda mean the "final twist" - after or during the split screen - i.e. Tony turning bad in 7x18. I'm not sure it warrants a page. --SuperWaffle 00:54, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
There's a Stingers page on Canada Dry's user page. That's what I'm talking about. --SuperWaffle 01:05, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

Transcripts

Wouldn't transcripts be something useful to have on this site? I realize they are a lot of work, and would require subset pages similar to the quotes, but isn't something at least worth considering?

This has been turned down (and ignored, see below) before because it's highly doubtful that Fairuse could ever reasonably apply to the complete words of an hour-long episode of a copywritten TV show. A handful of clips or short quotes doesn't seem to be an issue, but the whole work? Blue Rook  talk  contribs 00:46, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
My understanding is that fair use has four pillars of judgement:
1. the purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes;
2. the nature of the copyrighted work;
3. amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole; and
4. the effect of the use upon the potential market for or value of the copyrighted work.
Now, clearly the first one is not an issue at all. Since it is the transcript of a television program that has already aired and is available both for free online viewing as well as on DVDs, including rentals and libraries, it is unlikely that it would effect the bottom line (#4) in any matter.
And, since it would be forgoing the graphics and not trying to recreate the narrative, only to reconstruct the dialogue, it would not be the entire portion of the work (since it excludes the visuals) and it would transpose for another medium.
Because the transcript would only be inherently useful to someone who had already viewed the episode, as a research tool if nothing else, it would fall, I believe, under fair use.    CANADA DRY    talk    contribs    email   01:00, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

Episode scripts are a copyrighted medium in-and-of themselves. The finished episode is a separate product. I wouldn't want to even push the boundaries of copyright in either regard. Besides, it seems to me that transcripts fall outside of the scope of this site's intended purpose. Wiki 24 is an encyclopedia, not a library. There are many useful 24-related things that could be included here (such as fanfic, unofficial website links, audio clips and full episode videos) that aren't for various reasons. Just because something would be useful, doesn't mean it fits our mission. Fortunately, there are other websites on the internet. :) --proudhug 01:08, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

That didn't stop Lostpedia. --Pyramidhead 17:03, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
Did you see Proudhug's last sentence? Even if we were all willing to ignore the screaming copyright issues, like Lostpedia does for their scripts, it's not part of the wiki's mission/purview. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 03:26, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
Yep. Also, Canada Dry you might have forgotten that there is a commercial interest here: Wikia makes cold hard money from advertising on this very website. Proudhug treated the second point, and where I think the third point is covered, the fourth is not: a FOX lawyer might say that we're taking away from the company's DVD sales by reproducing the scripts here verbatim, giving potential buyers the option not to buy the product. It's silly, I know, but so are most litigations here in the USA. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 14:52, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

Consensus policies

Currently we have what I call "consensus policies" that really don't fit into current policy subpages, such as how nobody can change an episode guide's main image or a character's status without discussion on the appropriate sub-page. I think we could use a new policy page to act as a written repository for all these. Currently we just point to talk pages where the consensus was established, but it's impossible to expect people to know where to find those beforehand. This won't be a major endeavor and the results will be quite convenient I predict. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 00:30, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

In hashing this out, I'm finding actually 2 different kinds of policiy repositories: "Consensus policies" and "Precedent policies". Consensus policies require a consensus before a certain kind of change can be made, and I can only think of 2 examples at the moment: character status and episode guide main image changes. Precedent policies are really just miscellaneous policies like "memorable quotes require citations" and "which characters can have image categories" (the latter was established over on User talk:Wtl7). Certainly I'm forgetting a good number of others, yes? I'm thinking these are small enough to be included directly alphabetically onto the Policies "main" page. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 18:35, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

MFEM

Along the lines of a FAQ, I'd like to volunteer to start a Project page called something like "Most frequent editing mistakes". Or maybe it can be a section of the current FAQ. This will be a boiled down version of policy based on most frequent violations, a the repository describing all the annoying policy violations that new editors keep doing over and over and over. I want to link it in the Welcome template and underline it there, too.

My vision for the page (or FAQ section) works like this. It will have subheadings such as "Why was my forum or talk page topic removed?", "Why was my ep guide image change reverted?", "Why was my image upload deleted?", "Why was my FA vote removed?", and other silly crap that people keep screwing up with. Under each subheading will be a sentence that goes like:

"If your new upload was deleted, this is because you violated the image upload policy. New users cannot upload images until they meet certain criteria, and no images are permitted with capital letters in the suffix. See the Wiki 24:Image use policy for these and the other possible reasons why your upload was deleted.

In this manner we have another spot where people can read and learn instead of learning the hard way. Might even save the frequent editors and admins some time, too, eh? Blue Rook  talk  contribs 00:30, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

Wow, these are both brilliant ideas that I can't believe we haven't already implemented! These will be quite invaluable for sure. Thanks Rook! --proudhug 00:37, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

Questionable edits Project Page

Never thought I'd be here requesting a page, but this is the best place to do it. I'd like to create a project page where people can post direct links to a diff which they aren't sure about. For example: this diff doesn't seem right to me, but I'm not sure. Instead of making a note about it on the talk page, a curious user can post the diff on the Patrol Log/whatever we will call it, with a note about why they're unsure (if necessary). Frequent contributors can check this patrol page, and see if they can verify the questionable edit. People who post diffs that they question can use an edit summary and/or statement with the diff such as: timeline question

I think this is extremely important, as recently there is a large increase of edits I can't verify (probably given the new season influx). I am not comfortable just hoping that others will notice it and verify stuff I am uncertain about; I'd rather not let new false edits slip through the cracks. All users will be able to post questionable diffs on the page, and all users will be able to check them and verify them. The diff poster does not have to sign when s/he adds the diff, just the responders. "Patrolled" or verified diffs will be answered and cleared after a short time. This is a better alternative to posting a hundred trillion little Talk page comments that people might also miss as well. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 00:19, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

I'm not opposed to this, but I'm not optimistic that it would catch on among users. Even myself, I'd prefer to put a note on a Talk page. Even if this gets implemented, would you be opposed to the redundancy? --Proudhug 03:50, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
Well if I made it, and you're right, it might just become "the page where Blue Rook posts stuff he's not sure about". At which point it would be better suited in my user-space instead of a project page. I'll reconsider this as a user page if things get really hairy around here, because you're right, it would be redundant. Blue Rook  talk  contribs 05:31, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

Gadget Fetish..:looking for a gadget seen on 24 Day 5.....

Hi community,

Does someone know or can anyone tell me what type/model of phone was being used at CTU headquarters. I first noticed it on Lynn McGill's desk and it apeared to be a video/video caller id phone of some sort. Would really like to get my hands on one if possible.

JR....ijar69@hotmail.com

Why?

As a "technogeek", I think it would be great to see a "Technology spotted or used" section? I've noticed several times they seem to switch back and forth between Dell & HP monitors/computers. But, I've also seen other cool gadgets that I would like to know more about. Also, this could branch out into "Fiction" and "Non-Fiction" technology. Or real vs. fake.

-Technogeek

It would be cool to have someone create a page or pages about the gadgets seen on the show, real and otherwise. Feel free to start the project! --Proudhug 12:55, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

transcripts

i was wondering if we could have a section of transcripts for all the episodes 64.222.115.10 16:06, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

That would be good, if we could get them. Like on 1 where they have the transcript from a link on the sidebar. I have a few on my site (I didn't write them, but I'm happy for them to be used), but I guess someone will have to do the rest. The ones on my site are 2
This site ... [3] has some 24 transcripts.2Anthony4

Politics

I think there should be a page for the political scandel that took place before and during Day 1 that involved the Palmers and their associates. Vichy101 13:24, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

Cellphones

Is it possible to create a page on all the cellphones that everyone has or uses at one point or another? It would be quite interesting because I've noticed that some people's cellphones change during a season. Twentyfour mad 10:43, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

Contradictions

There should be a page that shows how 24 contradicts with reality, for example: Ronald Reagan is a real President who was mentioned by Aaron Pierce on Day 1, but the show uses fictional Presidents, who was the last President in the 24 universe that existed in reality?

There should be a timeline of American history as it would appear in the 24 world.

Internal Forums

On today's episode of 24, Bill Buchanan told Nadia to tell others about him being fired and leaving CTU as the new acting director because he didn't want people to find out from the internal forums. We need an article for this gossip haven that is accessible from all of CTU's computers! --24.144.146.62 02:20, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

Real life events

Hey, I was wondering if a page relating to real life events inspired by 24 have a page or if we could set one up for Project Chloe, the latest in the US Military's counter terrorist measures. I'm only suggesting this because Homeland Secretary Michael Chertoff has openly stated that 24 is his favorite show and that it was named for Chloe O'Brian. Jbond1 02:56, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

Well, a note on Chloe's page is probably good enough. I don't know that there's enough noteworthy 24-inspired events out there to warrant its own page, though. --Proudhug 11:51, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
since no one did it as of today, I added a brief note about it to Chloe's page, way down on the bottom under "Background..." --JoeyBags79 04:13, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

Battles

Hi guys. I was looking around at some of the wikis, and I saw that they had battle pages, including who was involved, and what happened. Like on the Star Wars wiki, or the Battlestar Galactica one. I don't mean having a page for the minor skirmishes, but for the some of the major battles I thought it would be cool. For example, Jack's rescue of Teri and Kim in Day 1, the attack on the Russian motorcade in Day 5, and the rescue of James Heller and Audrey Raines in Day 4. I'm gonna test it out on a sandbox page, and I will link to it when I get it done. But tell me what you think. I actually have no idea how to set up templates. Any help, at all, would be bloody brilliant. --Conspiracy Unit 07:24, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

CTU hierarchy

I was wondering if someone could add a page about CTU hierarchy. As of season 6 Bill is in charge than Nadia, but who is senior, Chloe or Milo. Things like that with maybe a table of who was in charge when? -- Solo89

During the six seasons, CTU has jumped all over the place with ranks and hierarchy that it would be very difficult.--CWY2190talkcontribs 22:06, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
•Exactly why i suggested the page :D -- Solo89
I wasn't aware that there was a heirarchy, aside from the "head" people. Everyone has their job in their department. I doubt Chloe or Milo have seniority over the other. --Proudhug 05:18, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
•This only occured to me over the last few episodes, where Milo went and was ordering around Nadia, but at one point I think Bill said Nadia was his second in command (CTULA Chief Of Staff?). It seemed like last season Chloe was Edgar's supervisor but now it seems that Milo is above her and at one point absolved her of her duties when she was distressed over Morris. --Solo89

Vehicles on 24

It may be a fun idea to have a page cataloging the cars and trucks and who drove them, similar to the firearms pages.
