* I fancied making an in-universe article similar to this one from wikipedia. Often the numbered LA streets are seen in the background as signs, or mentioned in the context of 6th Street Bridge or similar, so the individual ones aren't worthy of separate articles. But I like the way wikipedia sticks them all on one. Dunno what anyone thinks?--Acer4666 11:00, May 8, 2011 (UTC)
I liked the idea of a page like this a while ago, but it got deleted I think. Anyway, if we can do a similar article, I am willing to contribute with any/all of the text. I can't do pictures though.

If there was a better reason than I know for deletion, then I'll delete this request.

Transcripts
24 India
Wouldn't transcripts be something useful to have on this site? I realize they are a lot of work, and would require subset pages similar to the quotes, but isn't something at least worth considering?

: This has been turned down (and ignored, see below) before because it's highly doubtful that Fairuse could ever reasonably apply to the complete words of an hour-long episode of a copywritten TV show. A handful of clips or short quotes doesn't seem to be an issue, but the whole work? 00:46, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

Can we do transcripts? Just in case we need to keep track of who said what or something. OneWeirdDude (talk) 16:32, March 10, 2020 (UTC)
:: My understanding is that fair use has four pillars of judgement:

:::1. the purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes;

:::2. the nature of the copyrighted work;

:::3. amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole; and

:::4. the effect of the use upon the potential market for or value of the copyrighted work.

::Now, clearly the first one is not an issue at all. Since it is the transcript of a television program that has already aired and is available both for free online viewing as well as on DVDs, including rentals and libraries, it is unlikely that it would effect the bottom line (#4) in any matter.

::And, since it would be forgoing the graphics and not trying to recreate the narrative, only to reconstruct the dialogue, it would not be the entire portion of the work (since it excludes the visuals) and it would transpose for another medium.

::Because the transcript would only be inherently useful to someone who had already viewed the episode, as a research tool if nothing else, it would fall, I believe, under fair use. 01:00, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

Episode scripts are a copyrighted medium in-and-of themselves. The finished episode is a separate product. I wouldn't want to even push the boundaries of copyright in either regard. Besides, it seems to me that transcripts fall outside of the scope of this site's intended purpose. Wiki 24 is an encyclopedia, not a library. There are many useful 24-related things that could be included here (such as fanfic, unofficial website links, audio clips and full episode videos) that aren't for various reasons. Just because something would be useful, doesn't mean it fits our mission. Fortunately, there are other websites on the internet. :) --proudhug 01:08, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

::That didn't stop Lostpedia. --Pyramidhead 17:03, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

::: Did you see Proudhug's last sentence? Even if we were all willing to ignore the screaming copyright issues, like Lostpedia does for their scripts, it's not part of the wiki's mission/purview. 03:26, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

: Yep. Also, Canada Dry you might have forgotten that there is a commercial interest here: Wikia makes cold hard money from advertising on this very website. Proudhug treated the second point, and where I think the third point is covered, the fourth is not: a FOX lawyer might say that we're taking away from the company's DVD sales by reproducing the scripts here verbatim, giving potential buyers the option not to buy the product. It's silly, I know, but so are most litigations here in the USA. 14:52, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

Gadget Fetish..:looking for a gadget seen on 24 Day 5.....
Hi community,

Does someone know or can anyone tell me what type/model of phone was being used at CTU headquarters. I first noticed it on Lynn McGill's desk and it apeared to be a video/video caller id phone of some sort. Would really like to get my hands on one if possible.

JR....ijar69@hotmail.com

Why?

As a "technogeek", I think it would be great to see a "Technology spotted or used" section? I've noticed several times they seem to switch back and forth between Dell & HP monitors/computers. But, I've also seen other cool gadgets that I would like to know more about. Also, this could branch out into "Fiction" and "Non-Fiction" technology. Or real vs. fake.

: It would be cool to have someone create a page or pages about the gadgets seen on the show, real and otherwise. Feel free to start the project! --Proudhug 12:55, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

Politics
I think there should be a page for the political scandel that took place before and during Day 1 that involved the Palmers and their associates. Vichy101 13:24, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

: I certainly agree with that, and it sounds like something that would be perfect for the Events category. <font color="#6678e1">--</font>SignorSimon <small>(talk/contribs/email)</small> 22:14, August 12, 2010 (UTC)

Cellphones
Is it possible to create a page on all the cellphones that everyone has or uses at one point or another? It would be quite interesting because I've noticed that some people's cellphones change during a season.

Contradictions
There should be a page that shows how 24 contradicts with reality, for example: Ronald Reagan is a real President who was mentioned by Aaron Pierce on Day 1, but the show uses fictional Presidents, who was the last President in the 24 universe that existed in reality?

: There should be a timeline of American history as it would appear in the 24 world.

Internal Forums
On today's episode of 24, Bill Buchanan told Nadia to tell others about him being fired and leaving CTU as the new acting director because he didn't want people to find out from the internal forums. We need an article for this gossip haven that is accessible from all of CTU's computers! --24.144.146.62 02:20, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

Real life events
Hey, I was wondering if a page relating to real life events inspired by 24 have a page or if we could set one up for Project Chloe, the latest in the US Military's counter terrorist measures. I'm only suggesting this because Homeland Secretary Michael Chertoff has openly stated that 24 is his favorite show and that it was named for Chloe O'Brian. Jbond1 02:56, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

: Well, a note on Chloe's page is probably good enough. I don't know that there's enough noteworthy 24-inspired events out there to warrant its own page, though. --Proudhug 11:51, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

::since no one did it as of today, I added a brief note about it to Chloe's page, way down on the bottom under "Background..." --JoeyBags79 04:13, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

Battles
Hi guys. I was looking around at some of the wikis, and I saw that they had battle pages, including who was involved, and what happened. Like on the Star Wars wiki, or the Battlestar Galactica one. I don't mean having a page for the minor skirmishes, but for the some of the major battles I thought it would be cool. For example, Jack's rescue of Teri and Kim in Day 1, the attack on the Russian motorcade in Day 5, and the rescue of James Heller and Audrey Raines in Day 4. I'm gonna test it out on a sandbox page, and I will link to it when I get it done. But tell me what you think. I actually have no idea how to set up templates. Any help, at all, would be bloody brilliant. --Conspiracy Unit 07:24, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

CTU hierarchy
I was wondering if someone could add a page about CTU hierarchy. As of season 6 Bill is in charge than Nadia, but who is senior, Chloe or Milo. Things like that with maybe a table of who was in charge when? -- Solo89

:During the six seasons, CTU has jumped all over the place with ranks and hierarchy that it would be very difficult.--CWY2190<font color="darkgreen">talk</font><font color="grey">contribs</font> 22:06, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

::•Exactly why i suggested the page :D -- Solo89

::: I wasn't aware that there was a heirarchy, aside from the "head" people. Everyone has their job in their department. I doubt Chloe or Milo have seniority over the other. --Proudhug 05:18, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

::::•This only occured to me over the last few episodes, where Milo went and was ordering around Nadia, but at one point I think Bill said Nadia was his second in command (CTULA Chief Of Staff?). It seemed like last season Chloe was Edgar's supervisor but now it seems that Milo is above her and at one point absolved her of her duties when she was distressed over Morris. --Solo89

Vehicles on 24
It may be a fun idea to have a page cataloging the cars and trucks and who drove them, similar to the firearms pages.
